A Lunation of Mental Preparation
Generally speaking, Aquarian Full Moons, are forward thinking, can create a pronounced deattachement from the emotional and mental, and can have us reconsidering our place as individuals amongst the greater collective. This year’s Full Moon on August 9th at 3:55 am est, certainly does this, but it is also colored by the more extreme transits occurring on both sides of the wax and the wane lunation.
To Be Seen
Early astrological highlights of this Leo season include Venus in Gemini squaring off to Mars and the South Node in Virgo on the first day of Leo Season. This is quickly followed by a New Moon in Leo which will also oppose Pluto in Aquarius. These two aspects open Leo Season with the challenge of making some important, but hard decisions. This sets the tone for the month.
Creatively we may feel stuck or unseen, and in Leo season we want to shine. In order to step into the spotlight, these early transits ask us to look at any long shadows we may be casting.
Jupiter’s First Steps
The first degrees of any sign is similar to a child taking his first steps, shaky, unstable, learning how to ground and settle in. Jupiter may be the four-leaf clover of the planetary line-up, but even Jove is not without his growing pains.
Jupiter entered Cancer on June 9th, this is a really fortunate move for goodwill Jupiter. Jupiter is associated with expansion, but also integration. Expansion also has a limit to where we grow and how much we can learn. We must also take the time to incorporate how we are growing and what we are learning within ourselves for a more fully integrated, whole individual.
Peak & Fall of Light
The Summer Solstice marks the point where the Sun is at its apex, its greatest power, the day is the longest and night is the shortest. This apex has been building since the Winter Solstice, a return of the light, slowly but surely. Gemini season wraps up in whirlwind fashion, often quite social, transitional and busy. Maybe you have started traveling more during this season, found yourself meeting up with friends more frequently, greater ease at making friends and seeking out new social circles or activities. Gemini season marks the brightest light of the light half of the year.
On the late eve of June 20th this year, the Sun peaks as he crosses over the boundary of Gemini into Cancer. This is the Sun’s longest arc, and from here on out at 10:43 pm ET the descent into darkness begins. And yet, this also marks the first day of summer and Cancer season, which we associate in the northern hemisphere with long, bright, steamy dog days of exponential growth and stimulation. We don’t associate darkness with the Summer Solstice, and this is ok. Interestingly, Cancer’s planetary ruler is not the Sun, but the Moon. The Moon, as we know, is a reflective light of the Sun, not an original light. For us to see it here on Earth, we need it in position to the Sun, and it refracts it phases back to us by the solar light it gathers.
Jove’s Treasure Trove
All of us will receive Jupiter in the sign of Cancer on June 9th for an entire year, and during this year we may be provided with greater clues for wholeness and expansion, aligning us with greater personal wisdom.
When Jupiter enters Cancer on June 9th, whatever area in your birth chart it is transiting, we could expect fertile growth which includes dynamic change.
We Are Nowhere And It’s Now
“It all comes back to time. Time is everything and nothing. The zodiacal wheel is one large clock moving in perfect rhythm, and the planets are hands to the clock, each dancing to its own revolution. This dance creates a mathematical harmony, ordering the seemingly chaotic universe. Each planet tells a time, sets a tone, possesses a quality. In astrology, the quality of the time, or kairos, is interpreted through the zodiacal sign the planet is moving through.”
“May 25, 2025, the hands of chronic time will strike the hour marker of 0° Aries, Chronos will cast a long shadow over the fiery temple of Mars. 0° Aries, the vernal equinox, is symbolic for the initiation of new ideas, new leadership, embarking on a new journey. This is an absolute tonal shift from boundless, spiritual water to hot tempered Aries. This is less about our inner world, and more about the world we are creating externally.”
Erupting Worldviews
Neptune, a planet often associated with creative instincts, spiritual concepts, and illusory worlds is making big moves. Neptune creeps through the heavens, completing a full zodiac revolution on average of 165 years, and will enter Aries on March 30, 2025. This ingress comes one day after the final Aries Solar eclipse. The last time Neptune entered Aries was a day after the civil war began, April 13, 1861.
The planetary ingress to any zodiacal sign suggests a mood change. Similar to a tectonic plate shifting, the transition can be a gentle rumbling under the feet or a volcanic eruption. The planetary ingress to any zodiacal sign suggests a mood change. Similar to a tectonic plate shifting, the transition can be a gentle rumbling under the feet or a volcanic eruption. Neptune entrance into Aries, has real potential for being loud, disorienting, and for some, a complete eruption of their worldview.
Mercury Matters
Mercury matters right now in matters of mind, information and flexibility.
Entering Aries, Mercury will undergo a retrograde that will send him back into Pisces. Mercury also oversees the upcoming Virgo eclipse on March 14th. Hermes journey matters for us all, in matters of mind, communication, and reasoning. This is a journey of getting sound in mind, translating it to the heart, this is still a conversation for the language of fish.
The Language of Fish
A watery, sensitive, intuitive Pisces New Moon flowed forward on February 27th. This fresh lunation follows on the heels of a lot of mercurial activity in the sign of Pisces.
This past week’s journey of Mercury in Pisces, where the New Moon will begin a new cycle is coloring this lunation and teaching us to speak another language. The language of fish.
Pisces Season
Pisces, symbolized by the two fish swimming away from one another, but forever bound by a cord, they keep each other from straying too far towards the light or the darkness. A union of check and balance desperately needed in a mutable, diffusive water. Pisces can keep diving into the watery abyss infinitely, a place where we can forever dream into a mandala of soul. We must be careful to not go too far in any direction, light or dark, but lock in our inner north star, our guiding light, our own faith.
Locating A New Roar
A full moon perfects in the sign of Leo on Feb 12, 2025 at 8:53 am EST. Leo’s planetary ruler is the Sun, and here it sits not only in opposition to its zodiacal home, but both luminaries receive a square from Uranus in Taurus. This Uranian interference emits electric ripples that will directly color what is swelling under this lunation.

Jupiter Direct
Jupiter had been retrograding in Gemini since October. February 4th, Jupiter will station direct at 11°. As Jupiter stations direct and slowly gains speed, this will begin to signal the finishing work in Gemini before he has a zodiacal upgrade and enters Cancer in June.
Jupiter is given a nice boost from the planet Mercury the day prior to the station. February 3rd, Mercury in Aquarius will contact Jupiter through a pleasant trine, opening up communication, reorienting to new ideas, and lending an innovative perspective.
The retrograde story in your chart may be focused around a mental and/or social remodel. Connect here with your rising sign to see what is transpiring intellectually and socially for you!
Personal Grail Lunation
A New Moon in Aquarius is forming in the sky, and I am feeling it, and you should too. The Aquarius sector is reverberating with underground activity, similar to tectonic plates that are shifting. Maybe you felt a noticeable jolt here and there to your waking life, nudging you towards a personal intimacy of self-knowledge. Yet pinning it down is certainly a perplexing act. The movement is subtle, it is subterranean, it is powerful.
The New Moon perfects at 9° Aquarius on January 29th, but before the lunar queen dances with her solar king, she first passes through all the sensitive points of early Aquarius. The Moon will touch first the zero point of Aquarius Wednesday afternoon, still feeling the dizzy speed of Mercury who has just zipped by. Zero degrees, possessing all possibilities. The beginning, the ending, the infinite, and simliar to a New Moon, a shadow cast in the Sun.
Ross Ulbricht
Ross Ulbricht has been a prisoner for 12 years, and possibly has the chance for a pardon under the new administration. This is a case study of Saturn and the 12th house, which are both associated with the casting out of society and into places of isolation and alienation. I look at all the key dates of Ross’ arrest, charges and convictions in relationship to Saturn and the 12th house. I also look at the possible pardon chart, will he be pardoned by Trump?
Season of Aquarius
January 19th, Sun enters Aquarius. A fixed air sign, ruled by the planet Saturn, and where the Sun’s dignity is not in its best fighting condition. The Sun is considered to be in detriment, which tends to depress the solar attributes of the great luminary. The light is weakened, as are the solar qualities of leadership, initation, confidence, strength. Saturn, whose nature is polar opposite from the burning ball that gives earth any fighting chance, fights the light by casting chilly shadows and decimating any signs of life. Saturn who oversees the hands of this reality’s clock, reigns supreme this time of year.
Engaging the Soul
The first Full Moon of 2025 is in her home sign of Cancer, the protective crab. The Moon, often associated with emotions and mood, due to her frequent changeability, finds herself growing to full bloom on Monday, January 13, 2025. The Moon is not alone in the sky when she shines bright and high, Mars will be tracking close behind and will be visible. Mars has just reentered Cancer through the retrograde motion, and with him he brings greater guarding, anxious action and heightened awareness.
Resolution Lunation
Closing out the year, an earthy, grounded New moon in the sign of Capricorn will root us firmly into the coming new year. A New Moon is an opportunity to set new intentions, redirect our energy and goals, and in the sign of Capricorn, we are double blessed with the will and fortitude of the goat to move new plans forward in a cardinal sign. We are under a resolution lunation, one that can assist us in resolving that which we wish to release. What are we not bringing forward in 2025?
A Solar Depression
Saturday, Dec 21 at 4:21 am EST, our darkest eve of the year will reach maximum night, and from there our Sun will start his great return. The triumph of light over dark will proceed. What has been building up until then is the struggle within the battle. The Solstice reminds us of what we have been carrying around, waning limbs that weigh us down. Limbs that further anchor us into an inescapable past, robbing us of crucial nutrients for upward growth. The Solstice is a point of inward reflection, a period that permits space to digest what it is we need to release to the underworld so we can live in the outerworld.
Astrology Speaks: Venus Trine Uranus
Astrology Speaks is a reflective series on how the many ways a transit manifests. Whether this be a personal direct experience or an observation on the collective, this is meant to help catalog and understand better how the planetary transits add a qualitative experience to time.

Venus in Capricorn trine Uranus rx in Taurus 24.36°
This transit occured in earth signs, ushering in unique surges of creative and compassionate energy that is dynamic and equally grounding. This energy was building as early as November 30 and can be felt until Dec 5th.
Imagine a lighting bolt hitting a mountain top, the earth will consume this energy, producing a ground current. That energy will travel outwards along the ground surface, and anyone in close proximity will absorb this electrifying shock.
