A Lunation of Mental Preparation
Generally speaking, Aquarian Full Moons, are forward thinking, can create a pronounced deattachement from the emotional and mental, and can have us reconsidering our place as individuals amongst the greater collective. This year’s Full Moon on August 9th at 3:55 am est, certainly does this, but it is also colored by the more extreme transits occurring on both sides of the wax and the wane lunation.
August 8th, Mars in Libra is both aspecting Uranus and Saturn. Mars trines Uranus in Gemini suggesting a passionate and sudden change of mind around a relationship issue or conversation (personal or professional). There may be a sudden break for freedom or even iniating new rules into a relationship that provide a greater sense of self-expression. New philosophies and ways of thinking are ripe under this transit. In general, you may find yourself embracing new approaches that are bit more risk-taking and out of the box.
On this same day, Mars also opposes Saturn. This is the brake on the action. No matter how fast you want to move forward, you may be met with resistance. This opposition can induce tension to even the best laid plans. This opposition features two planets that are known for creating extreme tension and both are currently moving through houses where they feel do not feel comfortable in their own skin. The individual vs the relationship is on display here as well.
The Full Moon will bring to light where you may be struggling to individuate and also to where you fit into the big picture. It may be further asking you to be more selective and careful in where you are investing your mental energy.
This Full Moon may be teaching you to say no so in order to make room for future plans and personal growth that are needed to flourish properly. Have you taken on too much lately, over-commited? This months full lunation can highlight this need to pare down on what is really necessary, meaningful, and feels energetically fueled.
The following day, Mars once again raises his sword in the sky and takes aim at Neptune and Pluto. Another opposition between effort and belief, followed by a revealing insight that is moved into action.
This is certainly a period of getting clear on your own future, what is best for you and what is best for you amongst the collective. There is a real opportunity to forge your own future in the simmering fire of Mars . He may not be fully equipped to move in the same heated passion that other signs grant him, but here in Libra he allows you to play with the scales of what feels right and what feels wrong, until you can get it balanced just right.
Use this Full Moon to get clear on what areas of your life are currently pulling you under the waves of mental frustration. It is a great lunation to utilize Mars’ sword to sever the underfueled goals that provide no real sense of noursihment or libido.
Mars is no longer in Virgo, we do not have to have multiple coals on the fire, one or two will do during this period of outer planet transition. Collectively, we are all trying to figure out where to settle in and settle down. This week’s transits are providing an opportunity to feel what is not working and sometimes that is a better insight than to what is working.
Cut out the noise, the distraction and then sit and listen to what comes next. In the silence, percolating on the horizon, Mercury is slowing his retrograde wheels, preparing for direct action. Jupiter is pulling Venus towards a sweet embrace. For now pull yourself into silent certitude, and listen to where it leads you next.
